Investing.com – India equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Real Estate, Power and Consumer Durables sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 rose 0.34%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index climbed 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Wipro Ltd (NS:WIPR), which rose 2.71% or 7.90 points to trade at 299.10 at the close. Bajaj Auto Ltd (NS:BAJA) added 2.32% or 63.95 points to end at 2814.50 and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (NS:MRTI) was up 2.15% or 162.55 points to 7720.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bharti Infratel Ltd (NS:BHRI), which lost 2.48% or 9.55 points to trade at 375.20 in late trade. Bosch Ltd (NS:BOSH) declined 2.45% or 551.40 points to end at 21986.80 and Coal India Ltd (NS:COAL) shed 1.82% or 4.40 points to 237.40.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Wipro Ltd (BO:WIPR) which rose 2.54% to 299.05, Bajaj Auto Ltd (BO:BAJA) which was up 2.24% to settle at 2808.45 and Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:RELI) which gained 1.88% to close at 1593.50.
The worst performers were Coal India Ltd (BO:COAL) which was down 1.45% to 238.00 in late trade, Infosys Ltd (BO:INFY) which lost 1.22% to settle at 915.30 and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (BO:MAHM) which was down 1.13% to 1344.75 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 921 to 628 and 21 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1464 rose and 1035 declined, while 123 ended unchanged on the India National Stock Exchange.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 7.26% to 11.9525.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.15% or 1.91 to $1312.19 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.57% or 0.26 to hit $46.22 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.57% or 0.29 to trade at $51.02 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.07% to 63.911, while EUR/INR fell 0.33% to 75.7914.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 93.09.
