Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.97%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr), which rose 4.30% or 0.06 points to trade at 1.41 at the close. Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) added 2.01% or 0.30 points to end at 15.20 and Gr Sarantis SA (AT:SRSr) was up 2.00% or 0.22 points to 11.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Intracom Holdings SA (AT:INRr), which lost 5.00% or 0.17 points to trade at 3.23 in late trade. National Bank of Greece SA (AT:NBGr) declined 3.10% or 0.25 points to end at 7.70 and Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) shed 2.72% or 0.16 points to 5.73.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 76 to 45 and 18 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.21% or 4.80 to $2,334.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $83.41 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.20% or 0.17 to trade at $86.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.22% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 105.46.
