Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.97%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Greek Organisation of Football Prognostics SA (AT:OPAr), which rose 2.97% or 0.43 points to trade at 14.90 at the close. Titan Cement International SA (AT:TITCr) added 2.07% or 0.60 points to end at 29.55 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) was up 2.02% or 0.05 points to 2.53 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT:MORr), which lost 5.25% or 1.32 points to trade at 23.84 in late trade. Intrakat Technikon Kai Energeiakon Ergon AE (AT:INCr) declined 4.95% or 0.25 points to end at 4.80 and Lavipharm SA (AT:LPHr) shed 4.91% or 0.04 points to 0.81.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 82 to 40 and 16 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.85% or 19.90 to $2,310.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.43% or 0.35 to hit $80.48 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.23% or 0.19 to trade at $84.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.25% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 105.64.
