Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.91%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Titan Cement International SA (AT:TITCr), which rose 3.41% or 1.05 points to trade at 31.80 at the close. Jumbo SA (AT:BABr) added 1.05% or 0.26 points to end at 24.98 and Optima bank SA (AT:OPTIMAr) was up 0.98% or 0.12 points to 12.32 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alumil (AT:ALMr), which lost 4.06% or 0.13 points to trade at 2.95 in late trade. Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) declined 3.30% or 0.06 points to end at 1.70 and Cars Motorcycles and Marine Engine Trade and Import Company SA (AT:MTDr) shed 3.00% or 0.09 points to 2.74.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 93 to 24 and 18 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.02% or 24.60 to $2,431.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.45% or 0.35 to hit $77.31 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.30% or 0.24 to trade at $81.25 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 103.92.
