Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking, Financials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 0.71%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR), which rose 6.43% or 0.900 points to trade at 15.000 at the close. Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) added 2.67% or 0.040 points to end at 1.540 and Karatzi (AT:KRTr) was up 2.67% or 0.200 points to 7.700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr), which lost 4.68% or 0.013 points to trade at 0.265 in late trade. Sarantiseg (AT:SRSr) declined 4.38% or 0.65 points to end at 14.20 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) shed 4.34% or 0.126 points to 2.778.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 62 to 45 and 21 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.08% or 1.10 to $1301.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.89% or 0.59 to hit $65.36 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.22% or 0.94 to trade at $76.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.30% to 1.1764, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.8773.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 93.59.
