Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Travel, Banking and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 0.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 5.00% or 0.0050 points to trade at 0.1050 at the close. European Reliance General Insurance Co SA (AT:EREr) added 2.57% or 0.090 points to end at 3.590 and Terna Energy (AT:TENr) was up 1.82% or 0.100 points to 5.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Intralot (AT:INLr), which lost 10.49% or 0.082 points to trade at 0.700 in late trade. Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) declined 8.15% or 0.009 points to end at 0.101 and Intracom Hold (AT:INRr) shed 4.03% or 0.023 points to 0.548.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 68 to 34 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.16% or 1.90 to $1223.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.72% or 0.50 to hit $69.11 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.05% or 0.04 to trade at $74.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.1647, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8880.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 94.52.
