Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which rose 4.72% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.37 at the close. Dimand Societe Anonyme for Real Estate Constructions (AT:DIMANDr) added 2.60% or 0.21 points to end at 8.30 and Cars Motorcycles and Marine Engine Trade and Import Company SA (AT:MTDr) was up 1.94% or 0.06 points to 2.89 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT:MORr), which lost 3.36% or 0.86 points to trade at 24.72 in late trade. Thessaloniki Port Authority SA (AT:OLTr) declined 3.26% or 0.70 points to end at 20.80 and HELLENiQ ENERGY Holdings SA (AT:HEPr) shed 2.93% or 0.24 points to 7.95.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 67 to 55 and 19 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.27% or 29.90 to $2,376.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.59% or 0.48 to hit $81.19 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.67% or 0.57 to trade at $85.64 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 105.12.
