Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT:MORr), which rose 3.54% or 0.86 points to trade at 25.16 at the close. Centric Hold (AT:DESr) added 3.34% or 0.01 points to end at 0.34 and Cenergy Holdings SA (AT:CENEr) was up 3.18% or 0.30 points to 9.72 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Titan Cement International SA (AT:TITCr), which lost 5.39% or 1.65 points to trade at 28.95 in late trade. Hellenic Exchanges Athens Stock Exchange SA (AT:EXCr) declined 4.12% or 0.20 points to end at 4.66 and Elastron SA (AT:ELSRr) shed 3.32% or 0.07 points to 2.04.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 73 to 52 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.27% or 6.40 to $2,338.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $81.64 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.08% or 0.07 to trade at $85.08 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.32% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 105.40.
