Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Elinoil Hellenic Petroleum Company SA (AT:ELIr), which rose 2.83% or 0.06 points to trade at 2.18 at the close. Intralot (AT:INLr) added 2.46% or 0.02 points to end at 1.00 and Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) was up 2.22% or 0.13 points to 5.98 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr), which lost 4.32% or 0.13 points to trade at 2.77 in late trade. Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) declined 3.30% or 0.18 points to end at 5.27 and Optima bank SA (AT:OPTIMAr) shed 2.33% or 0.30 points to 12.56.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 64 to 46 and 24 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.66% or 43.41 to $2,651.51 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.08% or 1.47 to hit $69.11 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.45% or 0.33 to trade at $72.55 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.34% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 107.77.
