Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr), which rose 4.70% or 0.09 points to trade at 2.05 at the close. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) added 3.08% or 0.12 points to end at 4.02 and Quality and Reliability SA (AT:QUAr) was up 2.06% or 0.02 points to 1.19 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR), which lost 3.23% or 0.50 points to trade at 15.00 in late trade. Public Power (AT:DEHr) declined 2.29% or 0.27 points to end at 11.50 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) shed 1.56% or 0.04 points to 2.52.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 80 to 39 and 20 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.67% or 16.55 to $2,489.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.05% or 0.82 to hit $77.09 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.75% or 0.61 to trade at $80.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.31% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 104.11.
