Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 1.98%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Hellenic Telecommunications Organization SA (AT:OTEr), which rose 5.49% or 0.77 points to trade at 14.80 at the close. Public Power (AT:DEHr) added 5.35% or 0.56 points to end at 11.02 and Cars Motorcycles and Marine Engine Trade and Import Company SA (AT:MTDr) was up 5.01% or 0.12 points to 2.52 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which lost 1.57% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.31 in late trade. Dimand Societe Anonyme for Real Estate Constructions (AT:DIMANDr) declined 0.56% or 0.05 points to end at 8.92 and Jumbo SA (AT:BABr) shed 0.43% or 0.10 points to 22.98.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 107 to 17 and 15 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.64% or 15.60 to $2,428.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.26% or 0.92 to hit $73.86 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.01% or 0.77 to trade at $77.07 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.39% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 102.69.
