Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 1.23% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr), which rose 7.37% or 0.25 points to trade at 3.64 at the close. Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) added 4.30% or 0.18 points to end at 4.24 and Alumil (AT:ALMr) was up 4.20% or 0.13 points to 3.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Quality and Reliability SA (AT:QUAr), which lost 2.12% or 0.03 points to trade at 1.20 in late trade. Dimand Societe Anonyme for Real Estate Constructions (AT:DIMANDr) declined 2.09% or 0.19 points to end at 8.89 and Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) shed 1.13% or 0.02 points to 1.75.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 81 to 41 and 20 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.41% or 9.75 to $2,389.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.50% or 0.39 to hit $78.25 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.40% or 0.33 to trade at $82.30 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.03% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 104.07.
