Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 1.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr), which rose 4.12% or 0.14 points to trade at 3.54 at the close. Premia AE (AT:PREMr) added 2.99% or 0.04 points to end at 1.24 and Jumbo SA (AT:BABr) was up 2.86% or 0.62 points to 22.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Autohellas (AT:AUTr), which lost 1.92% or 0.22 points to trade at 11.26 in late trade. Petros Petropoulos SA (AT:PTRr) declined 1.46% or 0.12 points to end at 8.08 and Intracom Holdings SA (AT:INRr) shed 1.30% or 0.04 points to 3.03.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 69 to 42 and 23 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.77% or 19.00 to $2,492.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.94% or 1.49 to hit $78.33 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.48% or 1.18 to trade at $80.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 103.00.
