Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.75% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Jumbo SA (AT:BABr), which rose 5.83% or 1.34 points to trade at 24.34 at the close. Profile Syst (AT:PRFr) added 5.73% or 0.28 points to end at 5.26 and Gr Sarantis SA (AT:SRSr) was up 3.90% or 0.42 points to 11.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included BriQ Properties REIC (AT:BRIQr), which lost 1.01% or 0.02 points to trade at 1.96 in late trade. Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) declined 0.94% or 0.02 points to end at 1.68 and Thessaloniki Water and Sewage Co SA (AT:TWSr) shed 0.92% or 0.03 points to 3.24.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 71 to 43 and 23 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.62% or 15.65 to $2,541.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.97% or 1.36 to hit $70.56 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.75% or 1.27 to trade at $73.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 101.29.
