Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.75%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Petros Petropoulos SA (AT:PTRr), which rose 3.49% or 0.30 points to trade at 8.90 at the close. National Bank of Greece SA (AT:NBGr) added 3.40% or 0.27 points to end at 8.20 and Alumil (AT:ALMr) was up 2.78% or 0.08 points to 2.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr), which lost 3.27% or 0.12 points to trade at 3.40 in late trade. Thessaloniki Port Authority SA (AT:OLTr) declined 1.87% or 0.40 points to end at 21.00 and Titan Cement International SA (AT:TITCr) shed 1.59% or 0.50 points to 30.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 66 to 53 and 21 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.52% or 12.85 to $2,472.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.56% or 0.46 to hit $80.98 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.58% or 0.49 to trade at $84.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.21% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 103.66.
