Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which rose 3.42% or 0.002 points to trade at 0.072 at the close. Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) fell 0.83% or 0.100 points to end at 11.900 and Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) was up 1.02% or 0.0500 points to 4.9400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which added 3.80% or 0.045 points to trade at 1.228 in late trade. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) declined 1.03% or 0.0006 points to end at 0.0574 and Intralot (AT:INLr) gained 0.48% or 0.003 points to 0.632.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 57 to 43 and 16 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.20% or 14.70 to $1211.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.71% or 0.43 to hit $60.24 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.61% or 0.43 to trade at $70.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.13% to 1.1349, while EUR/GBP rose 0.25% to 0.8722.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 96.60.
