Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.46% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which rose 3.79% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.41 at the close. Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) added 2.91% or 0.12 points to end at 4.07 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) was up 2.02% or 0.05 points to 2.52 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Quality and Reliability SA (AT:QUAr), which lost 3.47% or 0.04 points to trade at 1.22 in late trade. Cenergy Holdings SA (AT:CENEr) declined 1.64% or 0.16 points to end at 9.61 and Intralot (AT:INLr) shed 1.57% or 0.02 points to 1.25.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 57 to 55 and 26 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 2.32% or 56.95 to $2,399.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.85% or 0.69 to hit $80.61 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.68% or 0.58 to trade at $84.53 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 104.03.
