Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.44% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Interlife General Insurance Company SA (AT:INLIFr), which rose 2.48% or 0.12 points to trade at 4.96 at the close. Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) added 2.44% or 0.04 points to end at 1.68 and Coca Cola HBC AG (AT:EEEr) was up 2.02% or 0.64 points to 32.32 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr), which lost 3.92% or 0.15 points to trade at 3.68 in late trade. Lavipharm SA (AT:LPHr) declined 2.95% or 0.03 points to end at 0.92 and Autohellas (AT:AUTr) shed 1.67% or 0.20 points to 11.76.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 69 to 50 and 10 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.33% or 8.10 to $2,413.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.59% or 0.49 to hit $83.11 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.36% or 0.31 to trade at $85.71 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.38% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 103.76.
