Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.43% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Quality and Reliability SA (AT:QUAr), which rose 8.97% or 0.11 points to trade at 1.29 at the close. Thessaloniki Water and Sewage Co SA (AT:TWSr) added 4.33% or 0.14 points to end at 3.37 and Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) was up 3.95% or 0.02 points to 0.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which lost 2.31% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.34 in late trade. Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) declined 2.00% or 0.30 points to end at 14.70 and Holding Company ADMIE IPTO SA (AT:ADMr) shed 1.95% or 0.05 points to 2.27.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 63 to 56 and 25 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.60% or 14.60 to $2,435.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.37% or 0.30 to hit $80.72 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.31% or 0.26 to trade at $84.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 103.76.
