Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Lamda Develop (AT:LMDr), which rose 2.89% or 0.21 points to trade at 7.48 at the close. Athens International Airport SA (AT:AIAr) added 2.70% or 0.21 points to end at 8.00 and Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr) was up 2.54% or 0.06 points to 2.42 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Austriacard Holdings AG (AT:ACAGr), which lost 2.23% or 0.13 points to trade at 5.71 in late trade. Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) declined 1.33% or 0.20 points to end at 14.80 and Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) shed 1.25% or 0.02 points to 1.66.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 65 to 50 and 21 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.17% or 27.65 to $2,381.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.35% or 1.84 to hit $76.44 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 2.19% or 1.80 to trade at $80.57 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 104.07.
