Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Gr Sarantis SA (AT:SRSr), which rose 5.45% or 0.60 points to trade at 11.60 at the close. Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) added 2.48% or 0.15 points to end at 6.20 and Ideal Group SA (AT:IDEr) was up 2.47% or 0.14 points to 5.81 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Epsilon Net SA (AT:EPSr), which lost 2.28% or 0.28 points to trade at 12.02 in late trade. Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) declined 1.67% or 0.01 points to end at 0.35 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) shed 1.43% or 0.01 points to 0.34.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 72 to 51 and 18 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.89% or 21.20 to $2,390.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.37% or 0.31 to hit $84.19 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.27% or 0.24 to trade at $87.67 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.14% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 104.69.
