Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Ekter (AT:EKTr), which rose 7.75% or 0.33 points to trade at 4.59 at the close. Space Hellas SA (AT:SPAr) added 3.31% or 0.22 points to end at 6.86 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was up 2.71% or 0.06 points to 2.16 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Athens Medical (AT:AMCr), which lost 2.22% or 0.04 points to trade at 1.54 in late trade. Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT:MORr) declined 1.83% or 0.48 points to end at 25.70 and Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) shed 1.62% or 0.04 points to 2.43.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 72 to 47 and 15 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.16% or 3.70 to $2,321.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.65% or 1.25 to hit $76.78 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.44% or 1.15 to trade at $80.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.56% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.26% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 104.91.
