Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare, Transportation & Logistics and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Technology, Basic Resources and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.06% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index added 0.05%, and the TecDAX index lost 1.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG), which rose 1.51% or 0.195 points to trade at 13.120 at the close. Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:FREG) added 1.36% or 0.860 points to end at 64.150 and Lufthansa AG VNA O.N. (DE:LHAG) was up 1.33% or 0.185 points to 14.100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG), which lost 1.47% or 3.250 points to trade at 217.650 in late trade. Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) declined 1.46% or 0.275 points to end at 18.535 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) shed 1.37% or 0.380 points to 27.375.
The top performers on the MDAX were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) which rose 1.82% to 84.080, Tui AG NA (DE:TUIGn) which was up 1.54% to settle at 17.095 and Rhoen-Klinikum O.N. (DE:RHKG) which gained 1.50% to close at 27.040.
The worst performers were Gerry Weber Internat.O.N. (DE:GWIG) which was down 2.14% to 15.555 in late trade, Salzgitter AG O.N. (DE:SZGG) which lost 1.77% to settle at 26.910 and Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE:BOSSn) which was down 1.49% to 94.630 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Kontron AG O.N. (DE:KBCG) which rose 4.53% to 3.070, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which was up 2.97% to settle at 4.062 and Drillisch AG O.N. (DE:DRIG) which gained 2.04% to close at 48.705.
The worst performers were Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which was down 20.28% to 32.405 in late trade, PSI AG F.Pr.U.Sys. NA (DE:PSAGn) which lost 4.15% to settle at 12.125 and Jenoptik AG O.N. (DE:JENG) which was down 3.14% to 14.030 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 381 to 312 and 34 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 4.10% to 19.54.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.31% or 3.60 to $1166.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.85% or 0.38 to hit $44.22 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.34% or 0.17 to trade at $47.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.41% to 1.1063, while EUR/GBP rose 0.06% to 0.7198.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.38% at 96.81.
