Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Technology and Retail sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare, Telecoms and Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.17%, while the MDAX index added 0.02%, and the TecDAX index added 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were K & S AG NA O.N. (XETRA:SDFGN), which rose 0.87% or 0.290 points to trade at 33.615 at the close. Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (XETRA:MUVGn) added 0.52% or 0.850 points to end at 164.050 and Linde AG O.N. (XETRA:LING) was up 0.45% or 0.700 points to 154.800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lufthansa AG VNA O.N. (XETRA:LHAG), which lost 1.16% or 0.130 points to trade at 11.030 in late trade. Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (XETRA:FREG) declined 1.06% or 0.670 points to end at 62.590 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (XETRA:CBKG) shed 1.03% or 0.105 points to 10.100.
The top performers on the MDAX were Gagfah SA Nom. (XETRA:GFJG) which rose 1.69% to 15.610, Salzgitter AG O.N. (XETRA:SZGG) which was up 1.50% to settle at 28.330 and Wincor Nixdorf O.N. (XETRA:WING) which gained 1.44% to close at 37.100.
The worst performers were Tui AG NA (XETRA:TUIGn) which was down 2.64% to 15.880 in late trade, Duerr AG O.N. (XETRA:DUEG) which lost 1.83% to settle at 69.780 and Leoni AG NA O.N. (XETRA:LEOGn) which was down 1.78% to 54.720 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE NA O.N. (XETRA:AIXGn) which rose 7.22% to 5.762, Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (XETRA:PV) which was up 4.44% to settle at 94.000 and Dialog Semiconductor (XETRA:DLGS) which gained 2.35% to close at 42.905.
The worst performers were Adva Optical Networking SE (XETRA:ADAG) which was down 2.65% to 9.109 in late trade, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (XETRA:SATG_p) which lost 2.62% to settle at 186.100 and QSC AG NA O.N. (XETRA:QSCG) which was down 2.45% to 1.753 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 386 to 357 and 34 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 27.93 a new 3-year high.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.89% or 10.00 to $1132.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 6.30% or 2.68 to hit $45.24 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 5.73% or 2.73 to trade at $50.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.55% to 1.1183, while EUR/GBP fell 0.37% to 0.7272.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.45% at 96.18.
