Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Software, Food & Beverages and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Technology, Construction and Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.77%, while the MDAX index fell 0.51%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which rose 7.73% or 15.80 points to trade at 220.30 at the close. SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) added 7.15% or 13.12 points to end at 196.74 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) was up 4.47% or 1.34 points to 31.34 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p), which lost 5.09% or 3.70 points to trade at 68.94 in late trade. Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) declined 4.38% or 1.67 points to end at 36.45 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) shed 3.33% or 1.14 points to 33.07.
The top performers on the MDAX were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG) which rose 1.78% to 36.52, Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which was up 1.67% to settle at 40.27 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which gained 1.28% to close at 90.95.
The worst performers were Tui AG NA (ETR:TUI1n) which was down 5.10% to 5.95 in late trade, Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (ETR:FPE3_p) which lost 3.00% to settle at 39.42 and Stabilus (ETR:STM1) which was down 2.52% to 42.60 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which rose 7.73% to 220.30, SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) which was up 7.15% to settle at 196.74 and Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:SMHNn) which gained 3.94% to close at 68.60.
The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 3.65% to 23.78 in late trade, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which lost 3.33% to settle at 33.07 and Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which was down 2.49% to 78.20 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 363 to 275 and 18 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.45% to 14.77.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.45% or 10.75 to $2,405.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.21% or 1.73 to hit $76.67 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.97% or 1.62 to trade at $80.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.33% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 104.20.
