Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Friday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Technology and Software sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Construction, Utilities and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.13%, while the MDAX index declined 0.71%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which rose 2.67% or 0.57 points to trade at 21.89 at the close. MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn) added 2.40% or 5.60 points to end at 238.80 and Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) was up 1.92% or 0.70 points to 37.17 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG), which lost 2.82% or 1.56 points to trade at 53.80 in late trade. RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) declined 1.99% or 0.65 points to end at 31.95 and Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG) shed 1.82% or 2.38 points to 128.26.
The top performers on the MDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 5.84% to 8.98, Traton SE (ETR:8TRA) which was up 2.00% to settle at 30.55 and Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which gained 1.87% to close at 1.97.
The worst performers were Rational AG (ETR:RAAG) which was down 6.38% to 777.50 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which lost 6.01% to settle at 10.48 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 4.51% to 11.44 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 5.84% to 8.98, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was up 2.17% to settle at 26.36 and Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which gained 1.74% to close at 76.10.
The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was down 6.01% to 10.48 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which lost 4.51% to settle at 11.44 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which was down 4.42% to 23.80 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 343 to 293 and 29 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.79% to 16.21.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.19% or 4.35 to $2,340.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.09% or 0.07 to hit $81.67 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.11% or 0.09 to trade at $85.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 105.54.
