Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Food & Beverages and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Construction, Technology and Software sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.06% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index added 0.22%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.54%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn), which rose 4.94% or 14.30 points to trade at 303.90 at the close. Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) added 1.97% or 0.54 points to end at 28.02 and E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) was up 1.85% or 0.24 points to 13.19 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which lost 4.01% or 1.45 points to trade at 34.67 in late trade. Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) declined 2.57% or 0.42 points to end at 15.92 and Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) shed 1.87% or 1.30 points to 68.24.
The top performers on the MDAX were Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which rose 5.06% to 37.82, Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:LHAG) which was up 3.24% to settle at 6.68 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which gained 2.85% to close at 12.08.
The worst performers were Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which was down 7.62% to 26.66 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which lost 6.54% to settle at 61.45 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 3.48% to 61.05 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which rose 2.85% to 12.08, Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which was up 1.98% to settle at 17.47 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which gained 1.97% to close at 28.02.
The worst performers were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was down 13.88% to 79.75 in late trade, SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which lost 8.83% to settle at 63.00 and Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which was down 7.62% to 26.66 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 314 to 309 and 34 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.89% to 16.04.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.63% or 16.90 to $2,682.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 5.15% or 3.80 to hit $70.03 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 4.94% or 3.83 to trade at $73.63 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 102.96.
