Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Software, Food & Beverages and Retail sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Construction, Insurance and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.13%, while the MDAX index fell 0.25%, and the TecDAX index added 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were SAP SE (ETR:SAPG), which rose 2.14% or 4.50 points to trade at 215.25 at the close. Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG) added 1.65% or 2.30 points to end at 141.28 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) was up 1.23% or 0.20 points to 16.31 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Munich Reinsurance (ETR:MUVGn), which lost 2.75% or 13.50 points to trade at 476.80 in late trade. Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) declined 2.04% or 0.64 points to end at 30.66 and Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) shed 1.93% or 1.22 points to 62.08.
The top performers on the MDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which rose 3.48% to 32.08, Traton SE (ETR:8TRA) which was up 1.81% to settle at 30.95 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which gained 1.79% to close at 13.63.
The worst performers were Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which was down 6.02% to 34.04 in late trade, Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which lost 4.54% to settle at 3.26 and Talanx AG NA O.N. (ETR:TLXGn) which was down 2.81% to 72.75 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which rose 5.18% to 56.90, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was up 3.48% to settle at 32.08 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which gained 2.95% to close at 5.94.
The worst performers were Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which was down 6.02% to 34.04 in late trade, Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which lost 2.51% to settle at 132.00 and 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which was down 2.40% to 13.82 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 326 to 280 and 30 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 9.60% to 17.55.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.51% or 14.00 to $2,752.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.80% or 1.96 to hit $72.00 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.60% or 1.93 to trade at $76.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 103.90.
