Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Software, Food & Beverages and Retail sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Construction, Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare and Financial Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.10%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.40%, and the TecDAX index added 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which rose 3.34% or 0.79 points to trade at 24.46 at the close. SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) added 2.31% or 4.18 points to end at 185.40 and Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) was up 2.18% or 1.16 points to 54.36 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN), which lost 6.05% or 1.63 points to trade at 25.32 in late trade. Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) declined 1.91% or 0.42 points to end at 21.58 and Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) shed 1.71% or 1.16 points to 66.52.
The top performers on the MDAX were Rational AG (ETR:RAAG) which rose 8.45% to 821.50, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was up 5.76% to settle at 13.21 and Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which gained 4.92% to close at 140.70.
The worst performers were Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which was down 2.80% to 21.54 in late trade, Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which lost 2.17% to settle at 27.06 and LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which was down 2.00% to 81.20 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which rose 5.76% to 13.21, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was up 4.11% to settle at 33.40 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which gained 4.11% to close at 63.40.
The worst performers were Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which was down 4.03% to 29.52 in late trade, Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKTG) which lost 2.00% to settle at 58.70 and Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which was down 1.23% to 48.81 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 341 to 281 and 18 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 21.21% to 26.42 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.67% or 16.35 to $2,428.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.08% or 0.79 to hit $73.73 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.89% or 0.68 to trade at $76.98 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.42% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 102.81.
