Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Transportation & Logistics, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 2.28% to hit a new 1-month low, while the MDAX index declined 1.44%, and the TecDAX index fell 1.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which rose 3.08% or 0.73 points to trade at 24.44 at the close. Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) added 2.36% or 0.67 points to end at 29.08 and Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) was up 1.51% or 2.50 points to 168.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (ETR:DHLn), which lost 6.28% or 2.59 points to trade at 38.66 in late trade. Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) declined 5.40% or 0.82 points to end at 14.27 and Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG) shed 4.39% or 6.14 points to 133.88.
The top performers on the MDAX were Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which rose 5.06% to 38.61, TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was up 5.05% to settle at 13.11 and LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which gained 2.94% to close at 83.24.
The worst performers were Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which was down 6.44% to 34.26 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which lost 5.09% to settle at 20.50 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 4.34% to 13.43 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which rose 5.05% to 13.11, Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which was up 0.73% to settle at 137.40 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which gained 0.63% to close at 63.75.
The worst performers were Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:SMHNn) which was down 5.41% to 59.50 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which lost 5.09% to settle at 20.50 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 4.34% to 13.43 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 455 to 166 and 26 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.74% to 14.41.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.70% or 17.30 to $2,490.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.95% or 0.74 to hit $77.17 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.69% or 0.56 to trade at $80.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.33% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 104.13.
