Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Construction, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 1.34%, while the MDAX index fell 1.27%, and the TecDAX index fell 1.70%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Covestro AG (ETR:1COV), which rose 0.88% or 0.48 points to trade at 55.32 at the close. Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) added 0.76% or 3.80 points to end at 500.80 and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG) was up 0.67% or 0.58 points to 87.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn), which lost 3.43% or 2.24 points to trade at 63.15 in late trade. Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG) declined 2.84% or 3.86 points to end at 131.82 and Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) shed 2.71% or 0.71 points to 25.35.
The top performers on the MDAX were LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which rose 1.51% to 77.96, Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which was up 1.46% to settle at 138.70 and Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which gained 1.45% to close at 14.00.
The worst performers were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 7.97% to 5.66 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which lost 4.58% to settle at 9.39 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 4.56% to 20.52 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:SMHNn) which rose 0.31% to 65.00, Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which was up 0.22% to settle at 53.54 and Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which gained 0.09% to close at 44.82.
The worst performers were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which was down 32.16% to 16.20 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which lost 4.63% to settle at 26.38 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 4.58% to 9.39 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 475 to 186 and 24 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.20% to 12.62 a new 1-month low.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.22% or 5.10 to $2,368.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.24% or 1.02 to hit $81.31 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.29% or 1.11 to trade at $84.64 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 104.84.
