Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Technology, Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare and Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 1.03%, while the MDAX index lost 1.04%, and the TecDAX index fell 1.89%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which rose 2.33% or 0.58 points to trade at 25.43 at the close. MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn) added 0.77% or 1.90 points to end at 247.80 and Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG) was up 0.58% or 0.76 points to 131.66 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which lost 15.24% or 37.60 points to trade at 209.10 in late trade. Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) declined 3.96% or 0.96 points to end at 23.29 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) shed 3.96% or 1.37 points to 33.10.
The top performers on the MDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which rose 4.28% to 13.40, Bilfinger SE O.N. (ETR:GBFG) which was up 1.18% to settle at 51.60 and Rational AG (ETR:RAAG) which gained 0.77% to close at 786.00.
The worst performers were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 5.40% to 5.82 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which lost 4.62% to settle at 20.22 and Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which was down 3.92% to 36.80 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:SMHNn) which rose 7.80% to 60.80, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was up 4.28% to settle at 13.40 and Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which gained 1.55% to close at 32.70.
The worst performers were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was down 15.24% to 209.10 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which lost 4.62% to settle at 20.22 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which was down 3.96% to 33.10 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 436 to 157 and 34 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 4.99% to 14.56.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 2.10% or 51.50 to $2,404.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.80% or 1.46 to hit $79.84 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.47% or 1.25 to trade at $83.86 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.08% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.09% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 104.04.
