Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Transportation & Logistics, Retail and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 1.19%, while the MDAX index climbed 1.22%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG), which rose 4.82% or 23.20 points to trade at 505.00 at the close. Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) added 4.10% or 8.70 points to end at 220.90 and Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) was up 3.51% or 0.88 points to 25.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Munich Reinsurance (ETR:MUVGn), which lost 1.35% or 6.10 points to trade at 445.60 in late trade. Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) declined 1.25% or 0.46 points to end at 36.22 and Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) shed 0.95% or 2.20 points to 230.50.
The top performers on the MDAX were Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which rose 6.10% to 114.80, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was up 4.82% to settle at 5.43 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which gained 3.82% to close at 4.24.
The worst performers were Rational AG (ETR:RAAG) which was down 1.35% to 765.50 in late trade, Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which lost 1.26% to settle at 98.00 and K+S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which was down 0.87% to 12.47 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which rose 4.10% to 220.90, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was up 3.75% to settle at 9.55 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which gained 3.46% to close at 11.96.
The worst performers were Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:SMHNn) which was down 4.68% to 59.10 in late trade, Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which lost 0.78% to settle at 53.22 and Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) which was down 0.78% to 37.51 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 383 to 223 and 37 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.89% to 14.43.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.61% or 37.55 to $2,370.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.23% or 0.19 to hit $83.00 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.22% or 0.19 to trade at $86.43 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.48% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 104.92.
