Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Software and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 1.04%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.28%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.94%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn), which rose 2.97% or 0.89 points to trade at 30.82 at the close. MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn) added 2.94% or 9.20 points to end at 322.20 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) was up 2.03% or 0.32 points to 16.07 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which lost 1.58% or 3.50 points to trade at 217.80 in late trade. Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) declined 1.17% or 0.72 points to end at 61.00 and Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:BEIG) shed 0.53% or 0.65 points to 122.65.
The top performers on the MDAX were Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which rose 3.43% to 33.77, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was up 1.97% to settle at 38.74 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which gained 1.67% to close at 11.56.
The worst performers were Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which was down 2.82% to 32.07 in late trade, Hypoport AG (ETR:HYQGn) which lost 1.92% to settle at 194.20 and Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which was down 1.57% to 15.72 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which rose 2.97% to 30.82, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was up 2.86% to settle at 13.66 and Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which gained 1.81% to close at 46.06.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 2.43% to 8.83 in late trade, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which lost 1.58% to settle at 217.80 and Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which was down 1.21% to 31.10 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 339 to 294 and 25 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.50% to 15.13 a new 1-month low.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.74% or 19.66 to $2,684.46 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $68.68 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.51% or 0.37 to trade at $72.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 106.03.
