Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Food & Beverages and Consumer & Cyclical sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.51% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index added 0.63%, and the TecDAX index added 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Heidelberg Materials AG (ETR:HEIG), which rose 3.21% or 3.85 points to trade at 123.85 at the close. Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) added 2.78% or 0.45 points to end at 16.73 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) was up 2.17% or 0.68 points to 31.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn), which lost 2.53% or 1.35 points to trade at 52.00 in late trade. Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) declined 2.33% or 5.10 points to end at 214.00 and Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G) shed 2.25% or 2.35 points to 102.25.
The top performers on the MDAX were Hochtief AG (ETR:HOTG) which rose 7.12% to 126.30, Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which was up 6.07% to settle at 34.58 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which gained 4.01% to close at 11.81.
The worst performers were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 5.51% to 32.74 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which lost 3.39% to settle at 11.41 and Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (ETR:FPE3_p) which was down 2.60% to 41.90 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which rose 8.19% to 16.90, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which was up 2.17% to settle at 31.80 and Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which gained 1.70% to close at 59.80.
The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 5.96% to 12.63 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which lost 3.86% to settle at 8.59 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 3.39% to 11.41 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 330 to 306 and 38 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.59% to 14.86.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.44% or 11.59 to $2,670.09 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.94% or 2.00 to hit $70.10 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 2.60% or 1.87 to trade at $73.70 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 106.23.
