Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Information Technology, Footwear & Textile and Investment Trust sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ), which rose 22.51% or 9.70 points to trade at 52.80 at the close. Associated Motor Finance Company PLC (CM:ASSO) added 14.57% or 67.00 points to end at 527.00 and Balangoda Plantations PLC (CM:BALA) was up 13.77% or 2.30 points to 19.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which lost 13.46% or 350.00 points to trade at 2250.10 in late trade. SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) declined 11.11% or 0.10 points to end at 0.80 and Multi Finance PLC (CM:MULT) shed 10.18% or 1.70 points to 15.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 94 to 66 and 50 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 1.63% or 0.51 to $30.39 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 1.73% or 0.59 to hit $33.47 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 1.54% or 17.80 to trade at $1175.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.23% to 209.980, while USD/LKR rose 0.43% to 144.690.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 96.89.
