At the market open in London, the FTSE 100 Index climbed 0.62%. The FTSE 250 Index and the FTSE 350 Index also rose. The FTSE 250 increased 0.20%, while the FTSE 350 was up by 0.47%.

- BT Group (LON:BT): Increased 6.67% or 8.70 points to 139.25
- Rightmove (LON:RMV): Rose 1.56% or 8.40 points to 545.40
- Rentokil (LON:RTO): Climbed 1.57% or 7.30 points to 471.60
Top Losers:
- JD Sports Fashion (LON:JD): Fell 2.19% or 2.75 points to 122.70
- Unilever (LON:ULVR): Declined 0.32% or 15.0 points to 4,715.0
- Frasers (LON:FRAS): Dropped 0.12% or 1.00 points to 841.00

- Gold Futures for December delivery climbed 4.30 points to 2,477.70 a troy ounce.
