Sharecast - Ocado (LON:OCDO) slumped as the online supermarket faced demotion from the top-flight index.
Prudential (LON:PRU) was also on the back foot after the insurer said that chief financial officer James Turner has resigned due to an investigation into his conduct relating to "a recent recruitment situation".
The insurer said Turner had fallen short of the "high standards" the group sets itself "on this occasion".
Prudential gave no details of the incident but said it has no implications on the group’s financial performance, reporting or operations.
Ladbrokes owner Entain (LON:ENT) fell as it said it is seeking a deferred prosecution agreement over alleged bribery at its former Turkish business, and that it was facing a potentially "substantial" financial penalty.
Going the other way, B&M European Value Retail (LON:BMEB) surged after saying it expects current adjusted core earnings to be higher than 2023, as it posted a fall in annual profits.
