Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Basic Materials, Healthcare and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.35%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN), which rose 3.06% or 1.10 points to trade at 36.99 at the close. Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) added 1.63% or 1.65 points to end at 103.10 and Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) was up 1.59% or 3.35 points to 214.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which lost 1.72% or 0.35 points to trade at 19.77 in late trade. Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP) declined 0.84% or 0.29 points to end at 34.05 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) shed 0.72% or 0.10 points to 13.88.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Valneva (EPA:VLS) which rose 7.81% to 3.31, Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was up 6.58% to settle at 1.98 and Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (EPA:GTT) which gained 5.22% to close at 133.00.
The worst performers were Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which was down 3.59% to 69.75 in late trade, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which lost 3.27% to settle at 0.82 and Remy Cointreau (EPA:RCOP) which was down 2.52% to 67.80 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 264 to 202 and 108 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.21% or 5.20 to $2,509.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.14% or 1.71 to hit $78.35 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.96% or 1.61 to trade at $80.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.25% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.22% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 102.68.
