Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Technology and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Industrials, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 2.00%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.66%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 0.47% or 0.11 points to trade at 23.54 at the close. Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) fell 0.08% or 0.08 points to end at 102.90 and Danone SA (EPA:DANO) was down 0.34% or 0.22 points to 65.34 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM), which lost 14.74% or 2.14 points to trade at 12.40 in late trade. Renault SA (EPA:RENA) declined 5.57% or 2.30 points to end at 38.99 and Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) shed 5.24% or 1.88 points to 34.02.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM) which rose 3.68% to 28.14, Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) which was up 1.62% to settle at 35.20 and Vusiongroup SA (EPA:VU) which gained 1.25% to close at 154.00.
The worst performers were Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) which was down 14.74% to 12.40 in late trade, Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which lost 12.60% to settle at 5.63 and Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which was down 8.15% to 89.60 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 345 to 154 and 94 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.44% or 11.80 to $2,656.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.06% or 0.72 to hit $68.90 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.05% or 0.75 to trade at $72.29 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.14% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.35% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 100.34.
