Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Banking, Foods & Drugs and Electronic Equipment sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.98%, while the SBF 120 index gained 1.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW), which rose 1.77% or 1.20 points to trade at 68.84 at the close. STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) added 1.11% or 0.34 points to end at 31.06 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) was up 0.56% or 0.80 points to 144.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM), which lost 3.31% or 0.54 points to trade at 15.64 in late trade. Accor SA (EPA:ACCP) declined 2.40% or 0.87 points to end at 35.31 and Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) shed 2.36% or 49.00 points to 2,026.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Mercialys SA (EPA:MERY) which rose 2.57% to 11.59, Dassault Aviation SA (EPA:AM) which was up 2.04% to settle at 185.10 and JC Decaux SA (EPA:JCDX) which gained 2.00% to close at 19.34.
The worst performers were Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which was down 18.89% to 10.99 in late trade, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which lost 8.30% to settle at 0.85 and Fnac Darty SA (EPA:FNAC) which was down 7.63% to 27.85 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 274 to 204 and 108 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.23% or 5.50 to $2,422.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.65% or 1.27 to hit $75.89 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.52% or 1.22 to trade at $79.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.27% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 104.37.
