Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.13%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Capgemini SE (PA:CAPP), which rose 8.44% or 8.75 points to trade at 112.45 at the close. Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) added 1.56% or 1.92 points to end at 125.18 and Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) was up 1.15% or 1.60 points to 140.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP), which lost 3.95% or 1.87 points to trade at 45.48 in late trade. Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) declined 3.49% or 0.59 points to end at 16.44 and Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (PA:MICP) shed 2.69% or 3.05 points to 110.25.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Altran Technologies SA (PA:ALTT) which rose 22.19% to 14.015, Capgemini SE (PA:CAPP) which was up 8.44% to settle at 112.45 and Maisons du Monde SAS (PA:MDM) which gained 3.93% to close at 20.080.
The worst performers were Compagnie Plastic Omnium SA (PA:PLOF) which was down 4.54% to 21.85 in late trade, Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) which lost 3.95% to settle at 45.48 and CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which was down 3.53% to 1.587 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 351 to 215 and 90 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 1.11% to 14.14.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.73% or 10.35 to $1428.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.31% or 0.18 to hit $58.08 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.50% or 0.32 to trade at $64.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.29% to 1.1363, while EUR/GBP rose 0.07% to 0.8951.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 95.730.
