Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Basic Materials and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.03%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR), which rose 2.34% or 3.66 points to trade at 159.90 at the close. Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) added 1.79% or 0.48 points to end at 27.31 and Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) was up 1.74% or 1.95 points to 113.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN), which lost 3.28% or 1.04 points to trade at 30.64 in late trade. Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) declined 1.48% or 1.30 points to end at 86.34 and Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) shed 1.47% or 2.35 points to 157.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which unchanged 52.94% to 0.00, Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) which was up 3.86% to settle at 25.30 and Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which gained 3.73% to close at 7.95.
The worst performers were Sopra Steria Group SA (EPA:SOPR) which was down 9.89% to 166.70 in late trade, Nexans SA (EPA:NEXS) which lost 3.70% to settle at 106.80 and Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) which was down 3.28% to 30.64 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 278 to 228 and 73 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 1.78% or 48.99 to $2,707.71 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.37% or 0.26 to hit $70.03 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.31% or 0.23 to trade at $73.29 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.45% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 106.25.
