Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.00%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (PA:LVMH), which rose 1.19% or 3.50 points to trade at 298.80 at the close. Safran SA (PA:SAF) added 0.81% or 0.85 points to end at 106.35 and TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) was up 0.71% or 0.19 points to 27.14 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which lost 1.84% or 0.510 points to trade at 27.230 in late trade. BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP) declined 1.19% or 0.65 points to end at 53.77 and STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) shed 1.21% or 0.230 points to 18.780.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Technicolor (PA:TCH) which rose 2.74% to 1.236, ALD SA (PA:ALDA) which was up 2.13% to settle at 16.34 and GTT (PA:GTT) which gained 1.61% to close at 59.90.
The worst performers were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) which was down 1.84% to 27.230 in late trade, Eramet (PA:ERMT) which lost 1.79% to settle at 82.15 and Elior Group (PA:ELIOR) which was down 1.54% to 14.05 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 273 to 228 and 95 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 1.77% to 13.13.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.20% or 2.40 to $1220.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.66% or 0.45 to hit $68.94 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.40% or 0.29 to trade at $73.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1562, while EUR/GBP rose 0.25% to 0.8919.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 95.12.
