Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas Producers, Oil & Gas and Gas Water sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.69%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Credit Agricole (PARIS:CAGR), which rose 1.39% or 0.175 points to trade at 12.745 at the close. Safran (PARIS:SAF) added 1.37% or 0.86 points to end at 63.76 and Airbus Group (PARIS:AIR) was up 1.37% or 0.76 points to 56.09 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Vivendi (PARIS:VIV), which lost 4.93% or 1.07 points to trade at 20.74 in late trade. Lafarge (PARIS:LAFP) declined 3.96% or 2.63 points to end at 63.71 and Legrand SA (PARIS:LEGD) shed 2.27% or 1.12 points to 48.28.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Numericable Pr (PARIS:NUME) which rose 5.29% to 58.330, Innate Pharma (PARIS:IPH) which was up 4.59% to settle at 10.250 and Klepierre (PARIS:LOIM) which gained 3.28% to close at 45.12.
The worst performers were Vivendi (PARIS:VIV) which was down 4.93% to 20.74 in late trade, Lafarge (PARIS:LAFP) which lost 3.96% to settle at 63.71 and Eurofins Scientific (PARIS:EUFI) which was down 2.97% to 235.25 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 462 to 459 and 42 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 8.68% to 18.25.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 0.42% or 5.10 to $1208.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude Oil for delivery in April rose 1.43% or 0.71 to hit $50.47 a barrel, while the April Brent Oil contract fell 3.36% or 2.10 to trade at $60.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.1178, while EUR/GBP rose 0.45% to 0.7280.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.24% at 95.52.
