Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Basic Materials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.29%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Nokia Oyj (PA:NOKIA), which rose 2.80% or 0.110 points to trade at 4.041 at the close. Essilor International Compagnie Generale d’Optique SA (PA:ESSI) added 2.36% or 2.27 points to end at 98.54 and Bouygues SA (PA:BOUY) was up 1.42% or 0.46 points to 32.38 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP), which lost 2.10% or 2.10 points to trade at 98.00 in late trade. Vivendi SA (PA:VIV) declined 0.70% or 0.12 points to end at 17.77 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) shed 0.66% or 0.49 points to 73.34.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Innate Pharma (PA:IPH) which rose 4.14% to 14.340, Edenred (PA:EDEN) which was up 3.14% to settle at 19.52 and Groupe Eurotunnel (PA:GETP) which gained 2.87% to close at 8.255.
The worst performers were Eutelsat Communications (PA:ETL) which was down 2.33% to 16.59 in late trade, Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) which lost 2.10% to settle at 98.00 and Neopost (PA:NPOS) which was down 1.46% to 27.76 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 357 to 312 and 113 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 0.43% to 18.96.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.38% or 4.55 to $1183.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $47.95 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $48.95 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.0556, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8476.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 101.76.
