Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 2.61%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 2.68%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Nokia Oyj (PA:NOKIA), which rose 5.55% or 0.255 points to trade at 4.850 at the close. Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) added 5.02% or 0.54 points to end at 11.19 and AXA SA (PA:AXAF) was up 4.85% or 0.80 points to 17.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which lost 0.95% or 0.038 points to trade at 3.968 in late trade. Technip (PA:TECF) declined 0.28% or 0.13 points to end at 45.72 and Bouygues SA (PA:BOUY) gained 0.25% or 0.07 points to 25.63.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which rose 9.98% to 55.000, Groupe Eurotunnel (PA:GETP) which was up 7.47% to settle at 8.920 and Genfit (PA:GNFT) which gained 7.29% to close at 21.555.
The worst performers were Ipsos (PA:ISOS) which was down 2.53% to 25.00 in late trade, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) which lost 0.95% to settle at 3.968 and Television Francaise 1 SA (PA:TFFP) which was down 0.89% to 9.057 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 544 to 122 and 89 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 11.00% to 28.96.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.53% or 7.05 to $1317.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.24% or 1.04 to hit $47.37 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.03% or 0.97 to trade at $48.74 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1063, while EUR/GBP fell 0.28% to 0.8312.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.27% at 96.29.
