Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 1.23%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.75%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Accor SA (EPA:ACCP), which rose 3.35% or 1.13 points to trade at 34.89 at the close. Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) added 2.51% or 0.35 points to end at 14.44 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) was up 2.40% or 0.65 points to 27.54 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which lost 3.62% or 1.92 points to trade at 51.18 in late trade. Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) declined 0.58% or 0.06 points to end at 10.21 and Danone SA (EPA:DANO) shed 0.36% or 0.22 points to 60.40.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which rose 4.56% to 10.25, Nexity (EPA:NEXI) which was up 4.37% to settle at 10.04 and X Fab Silicon Foundries EV (EPA:XFAB) which gained 3.46% to close at 5.53.
The worst performers were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) which was down 3.62% to 51.18 in late trade, Nexans SA (EPA:NEXS) which lost 1.84% to settle at 122.40 and Ipsen SA (EPA:IPN) which was down 1.22% to 105.50 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 334 to 119 and 108 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.70% or 17.45 to $2,497.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.82% or 1.40 to hit $78.38 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.87% or 1.49 to trade at $81.25 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.21% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.49% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 102.71.
