Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 1.05% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.99%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP), which rose 4.35% or 0.76 points to trade at 18.11 at the close. Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) added 2.81% or 1.52 points to end at 55.60 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) was up 2.32% or 1.98 points to 87.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which lost 0.91% or 0.260 points to trade at 28.415 in late trade. Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) declined 0.26% or 0.22 points to end at 85.60 and Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) shed 0.17% or 0.025 points to 14.665.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) which rose 4.35% to 18.11, Europcar Groupe SA (PA:EUCAR) which was up 3.79% to settle at 10.69 and Faurecia (PA:EPED) which gained 3.31% to close at 68.58.
The worst performers were Eramet (PA:ERMT) which was down 2.12% to 101.60 in late trade, Nexans (PA:NEXS) which lost 2.04% to settle at 51.00 and Mercialys (PA:MERY) which was down 1.40% to 18.26 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 424 to 193 and 75 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 3.19% to 10.20.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.02% or 0.30 to $1321.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.97% or 0.60 to hit $61.41 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.59% or 0.40 to trade at $67.67 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.19% to 1.2044, while EUR/GBP fell 0.33% to 0.8878.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 91.69.
