Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Financials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.76%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which rose 10.37% or 11.20 points to trade at 119.20 at the close. Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD) added 6.50% or 6.10 points to end at 99.88 and Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) was up 4.78% or 6.38 points to 139.96 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Accor SA (EPA:ACCP), which lost 1.30% or 0.47 points to trade at 35.57 in late trade. BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) declined 1.21% or 0.78 points to end at 63.46 and Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) shed 1.01% or 2.90 points to 284.50.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which rose 11.16% to 3.72, Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which was up 10.37% to settle at 119.20 and X Fab Silicon Foundries EV (EPA:XFAB) which gained 7.54% to close at 5.92.
The worst performers were SCOR SE (EPA:SCOR) which was down 6.20% to 19.81 in late trade, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which lost 3.27% to settle at 0.98 and Vusiongroup SA (EPA:VU) which was down 2.46% to 134.90 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 258 to 222 and 103 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.66% or 16.10 to $2,468.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 3.59% or 2.68 to hit $77.41 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 3.09% or 2.41 to trade at $80.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 103.95.
